Safe Ministry Requirements

For ministry to children and youth

At St James & St Luke’s, we are committed to the highest standards of care and safety in our programmes for children and youth. All adult staff and volunteers in these programmes must have a Working With Children Check as required by state law. Additionally, they must also complete a Safe Ministry Check form and undergo a Safe Ministry Training course every three years.

Please see below for more details of each component. If you have any questions or concerns, please email a member of staff or our parish’s Safe Ministry representative Robyn Scott.

Working With Children Check (WWCC) - 18+ only

This is a requirement mandated by NSW law for all adults who work or volunteer in child-related work. Employers and organisations must verify the WWCC details and keep records of anyone they have in child-related work.

Your WWCC is valid for 5 years. A WWCC application or renewal is free for volunteers and costs $107 for employed workers.
