St James has a diversity of members in various stages of life and with all kinds of backgrounds, nationalities, and stories. But we are, at heart, a Bible-believing church. This means that our hope for this life and the next is centred on Jesus Christ, who is revealed in the Bible as “the way, the truth, and the life” – the only way for us to know and have a relationship with God (John 14:6). As an Anglican church, our understanding of the Bible’s message is summarised in the historic creeds of the church, and in the 39 Articles. But our ultimate authority remains the Bible and its good news of salvation (1 Cor 15:1-4) .
